The Salvation Army Lawson
Ministry's own Matt Bursey will be cycling through
Canada and the U.S. to raise awareness for our
developmentally challenged individuals and to
raise funds specifically for Lawson Ministries
Autism program. Matt’s adventure will begin April
3, 2008 and will end after reaching all points on

Services Program is beginning the STRIVE Job
Development Course starting June 6, 2005. This is
a job skill training course to help teach the
fundamentals of employment. Participants will
learn Time Management skills, the importance of
Self Awareness, Health and Safety in the Workplace
and Job Search Skills.

Learning for Life 2007!
Year three has started off to a roaring success! Six participants are attending courses and they are completing the first one of the year. The six participants are all in various programs in continuation education and have support from one to one educational facilitators.
The Learning for Life Launch was held on November 5th at Mohawk College in the auditorium with a celebration afterwards for Year III of the program. Mayor Fred Eisenberger as well as Mr. David Sweet, Federal MP spoke on behalf of the program amongst other representatives for Salvation Army, David Christopherson’s office, and Mohawk College. Six participants, current and past where rewarded with certificates of completion.
The six participants
continue to grow and develop and some will be
moving on to reach their employment goals come
years end. Not only are the participants learning
within an educational setting, they are making
social connections and being included in their
community!!
